NY/NJ Port Holiday Schedule — Q2 2026

Updated terminal closures and gate hours across APM, PNCT, Port Liberty and Red Hook for Memorial Day and Independence Day. Plan your bookings now to avoid demurrage and chassis idle charges.

The NY/NJ port complex follows federal holiday closures for two major Q2 dates. As your dedicated drayage partner, NBBL Group is publishing the consolidated schedule so importers and exporters can plan container pickups, returns and rail moves without surprises.

Memorial Day — Monday, May 25, 2026

All major NY/NJ container terminals will be closed. Gate operations resume Tuesday, May 26 at standard morning hours.

  • APM Terminals (Elizabeth): Closed Sun May 24 (regular) + Mon May 25
  • Port Newark Container Terminal (PNCT): Closed Mon May 25
  • Port Liberty Bayonne: Closed Mon May 25
  • Port Liberty NY (Staten Island): Closed Mon May 25
  • Red Hook Container Terminal: Closed Mon May 25
  • Maher Terminals (Elizabeth): Closed Mon May 25

Independence Day — Friday, July 3 & Saturday, July 4, 2026

With July 4 falling on a Saturday, most terminals will close Friday July 3 in observance, in addition to standard Saturday closures. Plan for a 3-day window of reduced port activity.

  • Friday July 3: Most terminals closed (observed holiday)
  • Saturday July 4: Standard weekend closure across all terminals
  • Sunday July 5: Standard weekend closure
  • Monday July 6: Normal operations resume
